not a full one...I'm not that motivated/obsessed....yet....but I have decided to run my first half-marathon in about 5 weeks. I'm wondering if anyone has done one of these and has some tips on preparing for this (I'm currently running about 3 miles 3 times a week) or some race day advice for a clueless first timer...please and thanks.

I'd say, stay with the training schedule your using now & try a couple 15km runs in the weeks before race day. Good Luck!!!

Tape your nipples (I AM NOT JOKING!!!) I know a few people who had to stop in the middle because they got nipple burn from the friction from their t-shirts.

As RJ said, diet is key. Lots of carbs and lots of water starting at least two days before the race. Eat a light breaky morning of.
As for the training, I'd think about slowly ramping up the mileage. 13 miles is more than you're running per week now. You don't need to run 13 miles each time you go out, in fact you should not run that far very often, but make sure you can go that far - or at least that long. Make sure you have workouts that last at least two hours.
Shit I could go on all day. PM me if you have any Qs? In my former life I used to be a very competitive runner...
