I haven't been in Miami for a while now. Looking to spend a couple of days around South Beach area.

Recommendations, anyone?

Looking for a more modern/contemp style and not too overpriced

Yeah I'm coming down July 2-6 by myself. I want a hotel with a pool and close access to the beach and filled with young singles AND good location.

HOtel Catalina, South Seas and Royal Palm seem promising for that given my budget. Catalina seems to be geared towards the party people but it's gotten some bad reviews in terms of service and cleanliness...I can't live with bad service, it can seriously ruin an entire trip, despite all the jokes and randomness of the week. But damn it's running relatively cheaper.

South Seas seems more cleaner and incl breakfast than Royal Palm, but the then the Royal Palm doesn't incl breakfast...but I don't even know if i'll make it up each morning for it anyway hahah.

Was at SoBe last week with a friend and stayed at the Park Central Hotel on Ocean. I've stayed at a number of hotels there over the years and the 3 best so far (my opinion) are Park Central, Palm Royal, and Hotel Astor. The most affordable of the 3 would be Park Central (less than $200 a night last week). Go online and see if you can lock in a decent rate now if you know for certain you're going to SoBe. Park Central has a pool and is right across from the beach. Us gals felt safe walking around there at 3 AM after leaving Mansion. Good luck!!! P.S. The site tripadvisor.com is GREAT for user hotel reviews/ratings.

Me and my gf stayed at the chelsea for so cheap it was super nice and right on sobe. Hotwire is your friend!

Anyone heard anything about Loews Miami? That looks really luxurious ooooh
