Hello, I was wondering if I can ask you a few question regarding the iTouch ver 2, it states it’s now GPS enabled. How does that work, is it through satellites or data? Since it’s not a phone, how can it transfer Data?
(Dude goes away and comes back)
Dude
You must be in a Wifi Area for the GPS to work.
John
You’re telling me, if I’m lost and I need to get from point A to B, I must be in a WiFi area?
Dude
Yes
John
What if the WiFi area I’m in ends in 2 feet? How do I get to point B then?
Dude
I have no idea; your signal will be lost.

That doesn’t make any sense at all to me.
The question is, the iPhone ver 2, it’s GPS enabled also … I have a strong feeling it will be using Internet Data also.

It'll require a 3G connection but will have a real GPS receiver, not some clusterfuck cell-tower triangulation system that'll approximate your position with piss-poor accuracy.
They'll never equip the phone with the maps in memory. They will come down via HSPA for sure.

Is this rant against Walmart employees or iTouch?

That's what I'm wondering ... The BlackBerry's also have GPS, but it has to use Data to run it. It's not a real GPS receiver built in ... b/c it uses TeleNav.
