Talking THe Darwin Awards

I don't know if this was yet posted i did a search and nothign came up i came accross this site while bored at work. Its called the Darwin awards and it's interesting stories of people either killing or nearly killing themselves through acts of great stupidity ..... if your bored its a fun read and good way to pass the time

www.darwinawards.com

here is an example of the tales:

20 June 2007, South Carolina) A passing cabbie found a 21 year-old couple naked and injured in the road an hour before sunrise. The two people died at the nearest hospital without regaining consciousness. Authorities were at a loss to explain what had happened. There were no witnesses, no trace of clothing, and no wrecked cars or motorcycles.
Investigators eventually found a clue high on the roof of a nearby building: two sets of neatly folded clothes. Safe sex takes on a whole new meaning when you are perched on the edge of a pyramid-shaped metal roof. "It appears as if [they] accidentally fell off the roof," Sgt. Florence McCants said.

This is a true Darwin Award trifecta: TWO people die, WHILE in the act of procreation, due to an ASTONISHINGLY poor decision. Bottom line: If you put yourself in a precarious "position" at the edge of a pointy roof, you may well find yourself Falling in Love at the same time.

Ironically, one of the deceased was named "Tumbleston."

Another:

26 May 2004, Wolfsberg, Austria) The manager of an apartment house was surprised to find the legs of a corpse sticking out an apartment window. Police entered the apartment and found the deceased man's head soaking in a sink full of hot water.
Apparently the out-of-work Austrian had returned home after a night of drinking and drugs. He decided to slip in through the kitchen window. The window was fixed at the base and tilted out, giving him just enough room to squeeze his head through as far as the sink before he got stuck. While flailing around trying to escape, he turned on the hot water tap.

Police were not sure why he had not turned off the water, pulled the plug, or--perhaps most important--entered through the front door, since they found the keys in his pants pocket.

I have the book. I don't think I ever really got through it. It's one of those things that's hilarious when you read the top ten (which is why I bought it), then becomes sort of mildly amusing over the next 20 or 30, and eventually is just sad and depressing.

A lot of us deal with so much stupidity on a daily basis... at the end of the day it's exasperating to read about even more of it.

It's definitely worth reading the highlights if you're new to this concept. Beyond that, I don't think you'll be killing hundreds of hours on the stories.
