Vorsprung Durch Technik (or ‘Advantage through technology’ in English) pretty much sums up the typical German stereotype. Super efficient, groundbreaking and full of innovation. If Mercedes are this to the motoring world then Cosmic Gate are paralleled within the world of electronic music.

After a chance meeting at a record label head office in Germany, Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (Bossi) have created and inspired some of the most influential music ever to hit our dance floors over the past decade.

Today, Cosmic Gate are rated number 23 in the online directory of the worlds leading DJs at DJlist.com whilst remaining a permanent fixture, positioned for three consecutive years inside the DJ Mag top 100 confirming Cosmic Gate amongst the elite of dance music’s most famous and popular DJ duos.

During the trance boom of the late nineties no DJ set would have been complete without the sounds of Cosmic Gate. Original productions such as The Drums, Back To Earth, Exploration of Space, The Truth, Raging and the unforgettable Fire Wire, which reached #9 in the UK charts and dominated DJ record boxes, homes and car stereos across the globe for the majority of the synth filled millennium year.

In Germany the act have seen unequivocal fame with no less than seven chart top 40 singles to their name along with two artist albums ‘Rhythm & Drums’ and ‘No more Sleep’ rocketing their way into the album charts.

Success after success with their own original productions has been accompanied by an impressive repertoire of Cosmic Gate remixes, for artists including Tiesto (Urban Train), Ferry Corsten (Punk), Blank & Jones (DFF), Svenson & Gielen (Answer the Question) and Vanessa Mae (White Bird) to name but a few.

Behind the decks, Cosmic Gate can be found week in week out performing at the worlds leading clubs from Velfarre in Tokyo to Glow in Washington and from The Gallery in London to Sydney’s massive Home club. European festivals such as the legendary Nature One, Mysteryland and Trance Energy have paved the way for the Cosmic Gate DJ experience to be appreciated in full effect. Regular DJ appearances on every continent have given Cosmic Gate the chance to reach their truly global fan base.

Cosmic Gate have always been, first and foremost about their fans. The ability to adapt their musical style with the ever changing face of dance music has seen the Cosmic Gate sound develop and move on from the harder edge trance of the 90ies through to their current, more progressive yet still driving energetic music style.

In Summer 2005 Cosmic Gate released Back 2 Back vol. 2, the second part of their mix compilation series distributed through the worlds leading trance label Black Hole Recordings. A superb testament to their popularity with sales figures continuing to soar into the thousands.

Now Cosmic Gate are looking forward to release their third artist album named Earth Mover, arguably their best yet. Comprising a mixture of vocal and instrumental tracks the album combines progressive elements with trance, techno, tech-house, electro and house. The thirteen track artist album will not only include their single hits Ultra Curve, Bilingual and I Feel Wonderful (feat. Jan Johnson), it also features their latest single Should’ve Known (feat. Tiff Lacey). The longplayer Earth Mover delivers a phenomenal blend of driving cool club tracks, a certain for airplay from the worlds other leading DJs and set to edge Cosmic Gate in the same direction they have been moving throughout the past decade – right to the top.

I've been waiting for this day since they came to Webster Hall in NYC in April of 2005 and I made the poor decision of not attending and all of my friends who've seen literally everybody and have been to tons of shows raved about how it was by far the most epic night of their lives to this day.

Well, they didn't get there til 1:30 and spun only until 2:40ish. At least the opening dude, Jeremy Jerome? knew how to throw down. He played this sick track and I just had to get the name of it... he told me it was Yutta? I still have no idea It was probably around 11 when he dropped it, and it was still kind of empty then.

Anyway, Cosmic Gate opened with their remix of Sirens of the Sea. Some other songs they dropped were Body Of Conflict, Analog Feel, their remix of Vincent De Moor's Fly Away and Nic Chagall's What You Need... oh and I told them to play their remix of Veracocha's Carte Blanche and they played it for me And I wanted them to so badly play some of their old school classics like Fire Wire or their remix of Awakening but yeah right, only in my dreams lol... And I really wanted to hear Monday Bar but I couldn't figure out which one was Nic and which was Bossi (I know you're probably thinking n00b, but I swear I must have asked the entire BLEU staff and like 10 other people, no one knew lol) and I would have felt retarded if I inadvertently asked Bossi to play it lol.

Overall, it was disappointing that they only played an hour but it was still a good night. I demand that they come back to BLEU again!!!!
