[Trance] 'Wanderlust' ft. Avonlea Montague - 192kbps
Here's a new song that I pulled together over the weekend - it's called "Wanderlust" and it features one of my favorite vocalists, Avo, who laid down down the tracks earlier this evening. It's still got some rough spots in the transitions and breakdown, but I'd love to have some input before finishing it. It's the first song in the player and will start automatically:

Solid track. Doesn't do anything surprising but never hits a bad note. Production sounds good, at least through headphones. Love the guitar sound and great vocals.
If I absolutely have to nitpick one thing, its toward the end when it breaks down to just bass and drum. Then a mid-range sounds and an arpeggio sound play. I don't like the mid-range sound. It sounds a bit midi-ish in an otherwise professionally produced track. (wish I could see time on the player and I could tell you exactly where). Ehh but I suppose most people wouldn't mind it.
BTW, looking at your myspace, it must be nice recording with those girls.

Thanks Froofy-D! I know exactly which part you're talking about and I've been wondering how well that part fits in the drum/bass breakdown as well. I think I'm going to axe it and just leave it in the main theme. Thanks again for listening and commenting!

p.s. yes, it is fun recording with the girls - especially Avo and Aliciya who are both very talented and fun to be around.

Excellent vocal-prog! The guitar sounds are a nice touch that not much EDM possesses these days.
I do like your bass. It has a nice plucked groove alongside a sidechain play. The stereo width of the plucked bass wrapped itself perfectly around the off-base.
The song did not cover new ground after the breakdown. Normally, I see the breakdown being used to introduce a new element in the song; not necessarily a "climax", but something different. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with it as long as this track keeps the clubbers moving; which I am sure it does.
Very solid track. I really like the bass line. I also like the progressive nature of the arrangement.
The melodies are nice though perhaps a little too happy, fluffy for my taste. I imagine my girlfriend would love it though, she's well into this sort of stuff.
No complaints really. Not necessarily the type of track I would listen to but its a good track nevertheless.
Cheers mate

Thanks for listening and commenting, guys! Seeing as bass is my primary instrument, I'm glad to hear that so many people like the synth bass in this track.
@Owsey2008 - I'm in the process of contracting one song and I've already generated a little bit of label interest with this song, so we'll see.
