Shure M44G's... the famed M447 converted to a tranceaddicts dream..
how shure describes them->
"Revived exactly the same as the original, this companion to the M44-7 provides an ideal balance between skip resistance and accuracy of sound reproduction for entertainment purposes.
The M44G is a versatile performance needle, appropriate for both intensive scratching and mixing."
I'd agree, they sound good, they just dont skip, and as much as ive slammed them around like a newbie, they are not broke yet.
if you go with them, make sure ya put the little extra weight in the headshell (they come with the M44Gs) - they really do help... and slip on the small extra (auxiliary) weight behind the main tonearm balance weight (you'll need to add that if your on a tech 1200)
i run them at one gram tracking force, and it sounds just fine .. I like the idea of low tracking forces, vynil wear is a bad thing..
