Re: Purchasing Melodyne Studio - looking for download version

As the title says, I want to buy Melodyne studio today. But I want to download it today. I know you can from their site, but it's listed at $699 on their site, $569 from most retailers though. Most retailers, though, sell the box version - and I don't want to wait 'cause I'm going out of town for a week tomorrow (and want to use this while I'm on the road). Anyone know where I can buy the software at the retail price (around $569) but download it?
On a similar note, I found this link - they're selling it for $39.95. Now, I know when it is too good to be true, it is. But anyone know the deal with this site?

I just got Melodyne 3 days ago and I love it. Its astonishing for its vocal capabilities.
As far as the site it *looks legit. But I obviously can't vouch for it personally.
I'll tell you about the "too good to be true" thing though.
A few weeks back had been looking for a XioSynth and the bottom price I was seeing for 2 weeks was $299.
One day I found some guy selling it brand new for $245. At the time I thought it was too good to be true, but I bought it, and am still a bit puzzled how he was able to sell it cheaper than 99% of everyone else selling them.
I'd say go for it, IF you know its what you need and want from the demo.

Absolutely not. This is a website selling pirated versions.

More likely, they are fishing for CC numbers and will proceed to empty out your bank account. I did a little G2 on it and found some theories that it is run by one of the Russian gangs. I also discovered that they have hacked a whole bunch of independent sites and inserted hidden links to their site in order to increase their search engine page ranking-- search for any of the popular software packages and you'll find this site high up on the list because of it. And if you search for d-softwarehouse.com you'll get a bunch of hits to pages where you won't see their name anywhere-- check the "page source" in your browser and then you'll find it-- in a non-displayed section with dozens of invisible links to their site designed to fool the search engines. The domain is registered through "privacyprotect.org" which is itself a scam-- it is used to hide your domain registration so people can't find out who or where you are.
If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. While they might think that if they really do deliver pirated software to you, and that you'll become a regular customer and continue to feed them money-- more likely they figure they need to move fast and grab what they can get before the plug gets pulled on them and they have to start it up again elsewhere.
