Is it a reflection on current music or is it just another one of those crazy dance music trends.
I also notice a lot of new records coming out have a distinct mid to late 90's feel to them. Percussion, repetitive vocal, typical house groove etc etc. I like it if it's done well such as boris werners new release, however is this the shape of things to come over the next year or so...

this release is one of the best records i have bought all year...assuming you are talking about his double ep.
I definitely see it happening more and more and I really enjoy it. Nice to know that people are going back to the roots of dance music and still keep it fresh by employing the old sounds with a fresh soul. Good music shouldn't have an expiration date, it's just good music.
It's really not that weird to me though, I always love playing older stuff...and you'd be surprised at how much of it still sounds relatively new.

I think people have always been doing this?
I mean most people play the obvious classics, but I don't see many people playing roger s white labels from 91 in their sets except those who have always done so
i think in general there is a very retro house trend right now

Indeed, and with people like Guillaume, The Mole, etc putting out new takes on it you can drop it in sets without it sounding out of place.
