The short answer is no. They were owned by Turnkey and two years ago Turnkey got bought by Sound Control. Then sound control went bust, and many of the branches became "reverb stores", selling off the group's old stock.

What do you want to know about them? I know quite a bit about them.

Yep thats exacly what happened however the some of the engineers are/were trying to re start carillion on their own.

They had quite a lot of business and educational contract so I can't see them just leaving it there.

I had one of there pc's and it was built rock solid however if your not into building pc's your self ( If you havn't considered this have a read up on it as I'm sure your be shocked by how simple it is)

Alternitivley there are other audio pc builders out there. Got my last pc from digital village and I'm impressed.

Regards

I always thought that they where rather expensive for the specs. Last time I compared I could build a carrilon PC with half the money. Ofcourse Carrilon had some extra features, but still...

Rather blow my money on a mac

Motherboard, processor, RAM are most important for optimal performance.

If you know what processor you want, take it from there. Find a motherboard that has high data transfer rates. The more the better in most cases . Then preferably get the max. speed RAM that's possible for the motherboard. And you'll more or less have maximum performance.

of course you have to make sure you stay within budget so it's all about making compromises in the end. Unless you have a big budget

Buy a cheap motherboard (preferably with intergrated video if u dont play games) good CPU and decent RAM.

I disagree on the integrated video card. A basic video card costs less than 50E, I got mine for 35Euro. A seperate video card is a bit better for your performance than one that's on the motherboard, isn't it (I'm not 100% sure) ?

if you can save 40 euro by buying a motherboard that has everything you need, you could always buy a new video card later.. it will tie up a little bit of the budget.

http://www.chiefvalue.com/product-_...E00154131010060

This motherboard has 12 USB slots, 2 PCI express and costs the same as other cheap motherboards, leaving money for the most important factor the CPU.
