Could have been better, but I can't quite put my finger on the problem. Tunes were good, Rohr stole the show out of the 3; the others made me cringe sometimes.
There were a lot of musical inconsistencies that made it difficult for my ears to follow... Wasn't feeling myself towards the end.
I think it's the venue that I can't adjust to... but I made the most of it even though my hunger wasn't fulfilled.
Didn't bother checking out the afterparty unfortunately. |
Agree with all these points for sure! I had an alright time at the Opera House party but had a better time at the Basement! (Delano was spinning btw!)
The Opera House party was decent but there were a lot of problems:
- set times: 90 mins for Hali, 60 for jamie Kidd, 90 for Delano, 90 for Rohr, and 30 for Schoenmann?
- sound: was extremely loud at the beginning of the night, it was killing my ears, got turned down later on but was really inconsistent I felt, some times there was like no bass, other times it was fine. The 'acoustics' of that place just arent made for techno.
- Opera House: Aside from the sound, its too bright in there for me, plus I dont think the staff really like the EDM crowd it seemed. I really just wasnt feeling the vibe there for some reason.
- Small crowd. More and more people kept showing up as the night went on but I expected it to be waaaay more full than that.
- Rohr was my favorite set. A lot of people were saying they really liked Delano but maybe I was just in a bad mood during his set or something.
Bassment:
- Really nice place! like the zone, except done right! Totally chilled out friendly crowd, Acoustics/sound were soooooo good after having to deal with the Opera House sound
-Terrance Kissinger started out pretty chilled out but definitely picked it up pretty quickly! Then who do I see standing beside him but Alexi Delano! They seemed to be going track for track for a while, some great tunes were played! Jamie Kidd and Hali then came on, and I think Delano was still behind there with them throwing on the odd track.
Overall: Good night, didnt like the vibe in the Opera House that much but I still had a decent time. Was more impressed with the afterparty at the Basement, which I play on attending more regularly! It was really clean and nice in there! plus everyone was really chilled out, as opposed to the zone! But it still had that dark basement, low ceiling, feel!
