Hey i have been a bedroom dj for a while now and i am currently using a a Vestax vmc 004. Dont get me wrong, it was a great starter mixer but now i am having a few problems with it (i hear a slight distortion and crackeling noise when i adjust the low on my 2nd channel, and i feel like the sound is dropping out when it shouldnt be) but now i am looking to upgrade after a few years of usage.
I am debating between Pioneer and A&H. I know that the xone 92 is the ultimate choice over any other current mixer (that is debateable sure) but i dont have $1800 + to spend. I am looking at a budget between $800-$1200.
So i have been looking at the xone 62 ($1300) or 42 ($900). I dont know what the difference is. I dont have much experience on A&H.
And i have also been looking at the DJM-600 ($800) or 700($1300). Or.. Just wait a while and save an extra $800 or so to buy a xone 92 (this is probably what you will think is best but it will take me a while longer to make this purchase and idk if i can wait that much longer)
I know there have been alot of threads with the same questions about about upgrades, but sorry i had to make one more..
Any Suggestions?

I personally wouldn't get the 700. If you really can't wait, then buy the 42. It has pretty much everything you need and you won't need to upgrade for a while. I think A&H might upgrade the 92 next year so you also might wanna ask around. If you can wait and save a bit more (the 800 is a bit cheaper than the 92) buy the 800.

I had a similliar "dilemma" but now, almost a year after making my choice im more happy than ever.
It was between DJM-800 or A&H92 / A&H 42.

I choosed the 800th, because i want efx, couldnt live without em, and it would be to expensive for me to get the 92 and a efx1000.
Then the only advantage to have thoes two, would be that you have an extra mid eq. Not worth it.
And then i find out that hooking up an efx 1000 to a&h92 is not the easiest thing either.

But then i could get the cheaper 42 and hook up a efx and the price would be almost as a new djm800.
The filter system of a&h is the best in the world, no doubt but also.. that is almost the only advantage they have + their analogue sound. But its a good solution.

But i wanted all in one, so i found djm800 more "priceworth" and im very happy with it.. it has increadibly good sound aswell and great efx.

But if i could one day i would have to different setups.. one with djm800 and one with a&h92

I recently bought a new Xone 62 for a little under $800 shipped. I'm sure you can get better prices than what you are posting.

How is the sound quality between the djm 800 and the 42?
Good find on the contest man. From what they talk about, it seems like the 800 is the better mixer. Even though it ended in a tie. I know they compared the 92 between the 800 but how would the 42 compare to the 800?

Ya that is true. I was also thinking of getting an EFX-500/1000 but the djm 800 would pretty much cover the effects i would need. But the 42 with EFX would be cool. I have heard alot about the good filter system on A&H but is that realy its only biggest selling point? besides good sound quality and the scond mid freq

I'm probably not allowed to post the exact price or the place that's selling, but the place is in the NE region of the US. I know that's quite a ways away from 'Portland Fucking Oregon', but hey, AGI ProDJ is out there (and everyone in the middle is screwed).

I'm not sure if they're an authorized dealer or not, but they do seem to move a bunch of merchandise. And for those who are wondering, it's NOT DJdeals.com. PM me if you absolutely must know or something.

haha ya "portland fuckin oregon" is a little ways away. Is AGIprodj.com going to have prices similar to this "place" in the NE region?

A&H owns pioneer hands down in terms of sound and stability, but pioneer comes into it's own if you know how to work effects etc. Depends on your style and what you are looking for.

I am a proud owner of a djm800 and honestly all I can say is WOW! The thing is perfect. It's comfortable, sounds amazing, everything is where it needs to be. I have played on A&H mixers b4 and I must say I'm not a big fan of them.
