I've seen a couple of djs with multi-color headphones and different mods. Any knowledge of
are those custom made?
available stuff to purchase?
specific phones for which parts are available?
ideas?

Do they give better isolation?

I think so. The DT250 cups are larger and better material, also more comfy for prolonged use.
Some of the big guys also have personalized kit from pioneer, sony etc.
To the OP, are you sure you're not thinking of Skullcandy headphones?

I would say so. But the most important factor is that they are way more comfortable to wear, since the material is velour as opposed to cheap fake vinyl..and more durable.
