Jane-Finch area now "renamed" as University Heights
i'm of the opinion that geographical names evolve organically. so i don't know what's up with Toronto City Council's lame attempt at rebranding low-income/at-risk/pre-gentrified neighbourhoods with these self imposed and artificial names.. but this one definitely takes the cake:

It’s just one of a rash of areas suddenly being renamed or having the word “village” tacked on the end of it ala Liberty Village… and it's getting really tacky
could you imagine Regent Park "village" or The Gay Village-Village

A lot of Yorku students live in those areas, but I don't think that is enough to rename it.
