Agreed, but it is perceived as one of the most difficult tasks from an outsiders point of view.
And remember when you first started, it wasn't that easy..
Then again you're not really saying it's difficult just that there's more to dj'ing so my points aren't quite relevant anymore now are they haha..
Knowing how to beatmatch is great, it allows you to rock up to an old school (non-digital) setup and put a set together. Going completely digitial, using the sync option in Traktor etc frees you up to try a load of different things, so there are negative points but then again there are positives.
I'm seeing more and more dj's switch to a fully digital setup. These guys don't need to prove they can beatmatch any more, they're basically beyond/bored of it at this stage and just want to do more without having to worry about whether the songs are in time or not.
... i'm waffling.
