My Rane Empath came with 2 sets of knobs...soft and hard ones. Yes u can replace knobs with whatever u want, as long as they are the same shaft size. Check out some electronic parts companies for a plethora of knobs.

last time i saw ebay had mixer knobs. a whole bunch for like 20 bucks or something.
