well, both are ok.. esp. if you are just starting out and on a budget. the gemini pt2100 is a cheaper replica of the technics 1200's.. well, the gemini pt2100 boasts a higher torque.. but its not as solid as the techs.... and we all know that nothing compares to techs... but if you want decks that are well below the price of techs and has a lot of torque... you might want the gemini's... but, just to inform you.... geminis tend to be somewhat fragile! much fragile then the techs are.... but for the money, i really think its worth it. and for the stanton str80's, these have much less torque then the gemini pt2100's... the platter seems alittle weak(those of you that has tried useing these know what im talking about)compared to the gemini pt2100's...but these are great budget decks as well. both stanton str80's and gemini pt2100's has a hard plastic diecast(body).... most high-end turntables, like the techs, have aluminum/metal diecast. but hey.... the gemini 2100's and stanton 80's are around $200 U.S ... MUCHS cheaper then techs, vestax, and the new stanton str/st 100's. im not a big fan of striaght arm so i would go towards the gemini's... i have used both tables before and i really liked the pt2100's.... i hooked one of my friends pt2100's w/ my techs and i really couldnt tell a difference in performance. .. oh and about the stantons... i only used em once and they were ok.. nothing great
