woohoo!
I have always mixed my own cd's on the computer, and just recently taught myself to mix live using pc programs or cd -> cd. Don't worry too much - I'm a purist, and do all the beat matching myself. Anyhow, I always made mixed disks, and was always giving away the newest mix. A friend of mine sent one to a promotion for a 2 day party that Kokanee is hosting this summer in B.C. To make a long story short - they want me to enter the 'sound off' in Banff this Saturday. The guy is even going to get cd mixers to accomodate me since I don't have any actual vinyl (I know shame on me - I'm poor - don't flame plz). Anyways, I have to put together a set, and play against other dj's this Saturday. I was thinking of something like this to accomodate a variety of people:
(45 mins)
Solar Stone - Solarcoaster
Andaine - Summer Calling
Blank & Jones - Desire (4 Strings mix)
Madelyne - Beautiful Child (Hiver & Hammer Mix)
Slipstream - Into Other Worlds
Romanthaly's Night Vision - Never Fuck (Late Night Mix)
Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tiesto Mix)
Funk Einsatz - Punk (F.C. mix)
How do you think the set will go over for non trance heads? I want to kick the tar out of the other dj's, and would love to perform for thousands and thousands in Creston B.C. this summer. Sorry if I'm posting useless information here, I just am so jammed about getting to compete that I can't think about anything other then mixing shit up in Banff on Saturday Night. Maybe I'll even see some of you out in B.C.
