Aw man, I've been watching TED like non stop the past week
other good ones:
Sir Ken Robinson says schools kill creativity
"All kids have talent, and we squander them, pretty ruthlessly... Creativity is as important as literacy, we should treat it with the same status." Pretty funny at times, but also quite powerful.
http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/...ew_science.html - A really good speaker talking about the (near) future of the technological revolution, building limbs, organs, miniature robots and artificial senses, all stuff that is happening today but is changing the way we will live our futures.
[/quote]
(watching the next three in succession will warp your brain)
1 - Malcolm Gladwell on spaghetti sauce
Basically, how did the experimental psychologist Howard Moskowitz change the food industry, and what does his data help with our search for happiness?
2 - Dan Gilbert - Why are we happy? Why aren't we happy?
How does happiness compare between two people who make a choice under these conditions: one is stuck with the decision forever, and the other is given the opportunity to change their mind later?
3 - Barry Schwartz - The paradox of choice
Freedom of choice.. does more choice really make us happy? Really now? Really?? Are you sure??
And comedy option:
John Hodgman's brief digression
John Hodgman being John Hodgman. It's not all that scientific, it doesn't have to be. It's John Hodgman!
