what i find interesting is that they're baring the flag of a terrorist organization (as declared by the canadian govt in 2006) and not of their country.

Well yeah, that's because many of them regard the LTTE as their representatives, and their "country" as the enemy which they are seeking sovereignty from.
What I find interesting is that there's at least one banner with a picture and quote from Ghandi, who preached non-violence, while the LTTE is one of the most violent groups out there.

I noticed that too. There was a few Hezbollah and Hamas flags at the big Anti-Israel rally, but lots of LTTE's flags today.
