Well... you can manually leave your exposure out by being able to press an hold the button to leave it open, you may get some nice shots with a macro lens... however if you don't want any star lines, you'll have to get an equatorial mount, like the ones found on telescopes. Up here in Canada, you can get some awesome rotating star pics when pointed at the north pole. I did that with my old 35mm SLR.
