.mpga ->.mp3 file conversion - help please...

could somebody help me with the following?
i need to convert a few .mpga files into .mp3 format - what software do I need to do so?
i greatly appreciate any help... thanx!!

mpga ??.. I never have heard of it.. is an audio format??
if u can play it in winamp, then could be converted into mp3,

ive never heard of that file format either.
well... i guess what you need to do is figure out how to get it decompressed, into a wav file.. then just encode the wav file into MP3 with any number of MP3 encoders.
i prefer lame. it's simple and easy.

You have RealOne player installed, right ?
In that case, .mpga is the same thing as .mp3
Just change the extension. No conversion necessary.
RealOne player likes to rename your MP3s when you download them for some reason.
