alright so, i was wondering if there is any way to use time coded cd/vinyl with traktor without their shitty interface. i have a xone 3d, which is recognized by traktor. what if i just got some time coded cd's and vinyl and tried using it with the xone sound card over their interface? would that work or no? i'm just a cheap bastard, it's been an expensive month

the time coded cd's and vinyl only recognize the audio dj soundcard. If you try another interface the sound would be dead.

It works with certified mixers also, but I don't think the 3D is one.

What's wrong with the audio 8 dj?

First off, don't call the audio 8 shitty. It's actually a fantastic audio interface.

Now the Xone 3D, now THAT is a shitty audio interface... it was the main thing I HATED about that mixer before I got so fed up I sold it.

But yes, you need either and audio 4/8 or certified mixer, and the 3D is not one of them.

In any case, you DO realized you also need a Traktor SCRATCH Pro license code? If you just have "Pro", you still won't have timecode support, even with an approved interface.

If you HAD a Xone 4D, you'd still need to purchase the "upgrade" pack for approved mixers.

and ryan, i agree with you, the 3D interface is a piece of trash. whoever decided to create a mixer with 4 channels, that utilizes on 3 of them digitally is a fucking moron

i wish i could go out, sell my 3D, get a 92 and 2 technics and traktor/serato but it's just not in the cards right now

some people have claimed to have go the time code to work with other sound cards then the audio4/8, I have never tried so cannot confirm this.
would suck to buy the software to try it only to find you couldn't get it working tho. there are other packages that don't require a specific sound card, but youd be limited to 2 channels at best with the 3d's soundcard
