File Hosters with long exp dates?

Sendspace 30 days?

Yousendit 30 days?

Any other good ones with longer expiration?

Asking for sending demos, some labels ask for links to hosts that have long expiration.

for my website mp3 previews I use Dropbox. For me, it's the best service. When you register, you get 2 gb, no bandwidth limited space. You can extend it by buying commercial account or by convincing other people to use dropbox too. For example, if you register from my link, you'll get additional 200mb and I will too

But it's not the best thing about dropbox. The best thing is that you dont need (but of course you can too) to use webforms to upload your files. Imagine uploading 100 files via standard webform

What you do in dropbox is just downloading tiny app that sits on your tray and then you just setup your "Dropbox Folder" on your computer. From now, everything that you put to this folder, will be automatically uploaded to drobpox. Of course, you can hotlink such files, you can made them public available or private.

But the best thing is - Dropbox keeps your files synced. For example you can install dropbox on your home computer and your laptop. If you upload something from one computer, the another will automatically detect the changes and will download it. It's OS independent so you can easily move the files between your MAC and PC.

I use it on VstCafe and actually I use it at work. Hell, I stopped using pendrive. When I need to bring some files from work to home I just copy the files (windows explorer, total commander, anything) to my Dropbox folder and that's it. No stupid webform uploaders

It's gorgeous idea - I use it for 3 months and it's been down like once for maybe an hour.

aah, and since dropbox is synced with your computer then I guess your files will never expire (unless you delete them manually )

Kind of unprofessional to use some crappy free hosting to send demos. What is it, $5/month to get your own private hosting?

Many/most labels accept files from reliable hosting sites, doubt it is unprofessional, very much a norm.

What's a good website for self hosting, might be something to look into for the future.

That's two-thirds of a pack of cigarettes out of my child's mouth.

filefront is a while... not sure, usually between a month to 3
AND

It tells you something is scheduled to get deleted and you can click a few buttons so it takes another round to get to that stage again, so if your active your files should be able to be kept around.

Do the people who download have to sign up to the website, or can they download directly off a link?

Thx Anthony, that is worth looking at as well.
