Well, I didn't know what to expect walking in. I own a fair amount of his tracks, but I hadn't yet heard a full set - and I was unsure of what direction it would go in. However, a few tracks in, I knew I'd be pleased.
He played continuous bangers; great techy house, with the occasional enchanting vocal ambient track. I would have enjoyed a couple more melodic inserts, but overall, I was more than satisfied - I'd absolutely check out another set.
He's a good person to watch behind the decks; lots of little tweaks here and there, great sense of breakdown usage, and overall an exciting DJ to watch play.
I wish, however, that someone would have pulled the people out of the booth before, as expected, one of them managed to smack the pause button while doing some super fantastic hype dance. Weaksauce.
Cheers footwork for a great night! I'll definitely check out Kenji any time he comes to town!
Glad to see some TA's out there as well; you guys make the nights legendary

Showed up at 3 drunk as a skunk. The end of Kenji was decent from what I remember and Jon Jon brought the night home in style. First time closing down footwork (what took me so long)

what was up with the sound middle front of the floor? was just hurting like a muh******
Hmmm, sounded pretty solid right up on the bass bins... I didn't venture from there, so hard to say.
I will agree though, I love our locals every bit as much. I wish I didn't have to leave at 3, I always love a good Jon Jon set. What was the vibe?

HAHAH actually that was during my set, and even tho the shoe hit all the equip it missed the pause button... NOTE: this was immediately after her friend asked me if I had any R&B... haha karma!!
(I think the pause button thingie was earlier on in the soiree)

The night is a big blur....but a good one. The vibe in FW last night was !! everyone was yelling at Kenji, at eachother, the crowd was just amazing last night. The set was FUN, really, really FUN. He is great, thank u SASHA for booking him. You rock.
I also loved that he was there early, feeling out the venue, the crowd, the music. It seemed like he really played for crowd that was there...and he really PLAYED. He looked like he was having as much fun as we all were on the dance floor. I wish he was a TORONTO resident DJ, he would fit in perfectly here! I hope he's back soon.
Kotov and Wilde's opening set was great too. They def. got the place going i don't think i've heard a bad set by these guys yet!
