Everything I read and heard about it is good. The guy at sweetwater told me there's really nothing that compares to it in the price category other than the Presonus box. He said the Saffire Pro 40 was about as good as it gets in that price range. The Ultralitemk3 is comparable, but from what I understand the saffire pro 40 has more. (in particular, 8 preamps vs. 2) - He also said the focusrite preamps are better than the ones in the ultralitemk3
I was wondering if anybody here has one, has had one, or has used one and would share their comments on it.

the right ups i have read on these on different forums are all good as well, but sorry havent used one personally to make a comment - but all the best with it

Will be here today. Havn't been able to get a lot of input from owners, but the specs and videos look very promising for $500
Anybody know if the pre-amps good enough for recording trance vocals? (considering the artist is good)
Not really concerned about anything else. I'm sure the AD-DA converter is fine and I don't plan on buying an Omega or anything. The only thing I have at the moment is the Korg Radias rack which will interface with it. Still learning it (it's quite a complex synth) so I'm not sure what I will get next, but I'm excited to know that both analog and digital are now possibilities
oh, and if I do get anal about analog, I can throw a behringer ADA8000 on it. (please do not turn this into a thread about the behringer ADA8000) !!

Absolutely! Focusrite is known for their preamps. I'm pretty sure that this unit will come with the same preamps found in their cheaper silver-faced models (i.e., not the same ones included in their high end blue-face and red-face models), but they're still very good preamps. When I was comparing channel strips a few years ago, I had it narrowed down to the JoeMeek OneQ and Focusrite VoiceMaster Pro. I went with the JoeMeek because the pres sounded a little "warmer/darker/vintage" compared to the VoiceMaster, which were brighter by comparison, but also slightly cleaner and less colored. Both sounded great, so I doubt you'll be disappointed.
