I have a 275 now and I just bought a coffin for my turntables. The mixer space is for a 19" mixer and the 275 has about 3 inches on either side. I want to sell the 275 and get a PCV150 5-Channel.

I can put the 150 in the 19" rackspace and screw it in place. What are the major differences? Am I taking a huge huge sound quality hit when I go down to a rackable mixer vs. the 275?

I don't use the crossfader; I have gotten used to using EQ's. If I rack the mixer, then I can get a rackable CD player and have 2 TT's and 2 CD sources. Any opinions?

Should I save a few months and get the DJM-3000? Does the DJM-3000 have any RCA outputs (they keep boasting about 2 digital outputs)?

you have to remember that the djm 3000 has a quality array of effects, not sure if the pcv150 does, but that is one its kick ass features, aside from being a quality mixer.

I say go for the PCV-150....... the Pioneer DJM-3000 is WAY overpriced... (850$ for a god damn mixer... geeeezz.....). and the Vestax PCV-150 is, as you can see, very affordable..... that's the mixer I'm probably getting.....
and I use a dual CD player... and planning on purchasing a pair of TT's too......

and you really don't have to worry about the crossfader.... do what I do... don't touch it.... lol.....

and there's no difference in sound quality between a regular mixer and a rackable one... a mixer is a mixer. period...

so get the PCV-150... you won't be needing the effects in the DJM-3000 anyway.

just sell and buy a new coffin for ur mixer, the 275 is an excelent mixer and i think it would be plain stupidity to sell it because it dosen't fit ur coffin

I think I am going to throw money at the problem and get the DJM-3000. Goodbye this month's paycheck! I'm selling my PCV-275. It's in mint condition. I have only had it for 4 months and I am just a bedroom DJ.

If I were you I would keep the PCV-275. You will probably be able to get rack mount brackets for it if you look around.

I have used the PCV-150 on a few occasions, and indeed you cannot hear the eq changes in the headphones. There is also no cue/master panning control, each channel is either on in the headphones or off. There is no fading between cue and master in the headphones. Also, it have just been a dodgy fader on the unit I was using, but the crossfader seems to dip in volume in the centre. The overall volume goes down to about 95% when you put the fader in the middle. Not by a lot, but noticeable.

Don't get the DJM-3000. Pioneer mixers are cheap build quality and sound quality with an expensive price tag. The effects on it are AFAIK the same as the ones on the DJM-600, i.e. lame. If you want to do effects right then get a separate effects unit and use the send and return on the mixer. That's what it's there for.

Finally someone whos knows business, everyone here thinks the Pioneer mixers are so damn great.
They are simply average, nothing more.
I Have the 275 and I love it, dont sell it, instead get a new coffin.
