Hey guys im just starting out djing and want to sound pro at beatmatching. I heard you can purchase programs that will automatically beatmatch for you so you dont have to learn it and will sound professional. What are some of the best programs that do this?

Traktor.

Sad, this is how a lot of people are starting off these days. Beatmatching is probably the smallest part of mixing, but come on...do your time.

Why are you trying to sound like something you're not?

DUDE! You really should learn the ropes and then if you still want to switch, do so. The statement you just made was disgusting and the most lazy thing i've ever read. Get Tiesto's number i'm sure you too would be perfect for each other! He can tell you how to press play on a set in a stadium

Buy some cdjs; learn to beatmatch (it will take you weeks if you're dedicated) and then you'll realize how simple it was and how dumb the post you just made was.

Let him get Traktor.

He'll still suck ass. Wont know what he's doing.

Good luck getting all your tracks beatgridded perfectly so they're all 'in time'.

Your set is going to sound like ass and I can guarantee that. You wont understand half the stuff you learn from trying to beatmatch.

Not only that but when you rock up to a setup that only has cdj's you'll have to say sorry i don't beatmatch i just click and press buttons.

But if I'm honest I don't hold it against you, at least you have the balls to just come out and say it. Why make life more difficult on yourself if you don't have to.

End of the day if you don't want to you don't have to.

Tony, your comment has no relevance to this guys question.
You've done it for 10 years as there was no other way when you started. The fact of the matter is he doesn't have to deal with it. So why should he?

Anyway, I still think you should learn the basics even if you're not very good at them they give you a good foundation. But suit yourself

nelly

learning to beatmatch will help you mix better and learn song structures without needing a waveform(which can be deceiving). After you learn to beatmatch you will see that you can mix better (see: flow) even if you decide to use a program that does it for you.

Stop putting the pussy on the pedestal, beatmatching is retardedly easy once you "get it". You won't be good at anything unless you practice, so just learn and then go the "easy way" after.
