is "guv" or "guv'nor" still part of the lingo amongst, er, people round the ages 15-25? I'm asking because I don't if it would be anachronostic on my part, as a writer, to have a character (living in the present) of mine use this word.

yes it still refers to being top dog or boss in most circles manly london and will never really be out dated.

When I worked in London bars, people would ask to speak to the Guv or the Guv'nor if they were looking for the manager/owner.
