I've heard nothing but glowing reviews of the Akai APC40, so I'd go with that. Though I haven't heard anything about the Launchpad, it looks like it doesn't have as much control as the Akai as far as faders and whatnot. Which if you're using ableton to mix, I'd assume you want some faders. The Launchpad seems like a suitable addition to a setup.

This CD is loaded with uplifting, energetic, blood moving tracks intricately mixed with angelic perfection. From that moment on, I could feel the magik flowing through my veins while listening to the music that Tijs carefully samples and produces. His creativity allows him to develop the concepts of songs that bring life and energy to people around the world.

Yea same here. Honestly, i'll be using it for everything. i just want to do crazy stuff on stage, basically. so the more options i have the better, however, i'll be carrying it with me wherever i play bc i'm moving to another country so i'll be playing for free (also helps me get laid. hey at least i'm honest). anyway, i like about the launchpad that it has a simple layout and its super light and convenient. you can also mix because the pad becomes a fader, it's incredible look at the video!

Pretty sweet. Still, I think an actual tactile fader would be better and far more accurate.

This looks like a handy add-on to my uc33e that I'm using currently.
I mean I would like to get an APC40, but I mean I've got faders on the uc33e, this is perfect!

I'm definently tempted by the Launchpad. Looks like an easy way to launch clips whilst djing in live, also the size of it is a bonus for carrying around. Can't see me using it for mixing though.
