I was just watching a vid on youtube over here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shMUb1BKJRY

Now, when the guy touches the red cue button it reacts immediately, however when at 0:48 he then pushes the green play button it seems there is some delay before it starts playing when he releases it.. it doesn't seem to react instantly like the cue button.. is that normal?

Just watch the vid at 48 seconds.. what do you think.. he seems to hold the green play button for a short while but when he releases it, there is a small delay before the track restarts playing where with the cue button reaction is instantly.. do you also see this and is this normal or not?!

it does have latency

theres no difference in latency between play and cue button. i looked at 48sec and i have no idea what ur talking about. his cue point is abit weird though, id adjust it a little, it might be what ur meaning.

No it doesn't have any latency.

Not sure what is going on in the vid BUT the CUE and PLAY/PAUSE buttons respond in exactyl the same way as each other - they play from the cue point immediately. The only difference between the two is that the CUE button when released will stop playing the track unless you've pressed PLAY whilst holding it down.

The way the CDJ behaves in the vid is unusual. Check out the footage @ 3.33 and this is the way it should behave.

Looks like he points to the play button at 48 seconds, but actually presses it at 49, which then starts the CDJ immediately. You also have to consider a lot of youtube videos do not sync with the audio, which for some reason gets messed up through the uploading process.

Only "latency" I can think of is the start speed while in vinyl mode which can be adjusted with knobs to the right of the CDJ. Tracks can gradually start and speed up to normal speed (like a turntable), or start instantly like CDJs.
