Ableton 8?

Thinking about making the switch well I have been for a while now. Have hit the ceiling with my Crapwalk I mean Cakewalk sequencer.

Anyone have good experience with mixing with an analogue mixer through Ableton and using outboard compressors? Tried the demo of version 8.xx, and was kinda weird to get my MOTU working with it, wasnt workin out. I'm bit a handicap with setting things up the first time, esp with a mixer and outboard involved. But I think im defo gonna make the switch, and just rewire my old stuff through it.

Ableton 8 = good?

motu products and ableton for whatever reason act a bit funny. for instance my main outs on my 828mk3 are 11/12 on ableton and analag 1/2 is 3/4 in ableton.

Whats the difference between Live and the Suite version? Which one is betta? They're both the same price. What type of mixer you using with it? Or are you entirely ITB through the MOTU?

edit: the Suite version looks better with all the extras. Hmmm

havent upgraded to 8 yet - heard something about a Christmas discount so gonna hold out for another while...
I have a MOTU interface as well - only strange thing is the main outs are 11/12 as opposed to 1/2 - otherwise never had a single problem.

thanks for the heads up.

Spammers...there is a webpage dedicated to that on Ableton's site with a long list of Producers that use Ableton, make a thread about it. Add me to the list, unless a Mac falls into my lap.

And the sequencer is just 1 piece of the puzzle...a lot more to making good music than just the sequencer.

Is it the same for all MOTU interfaces? I'm thinking of switching back to Ableton, and I should be picking up a 828mk3 soon. I guess it's not a big deal at all, though.
