[ALIVE015] No Brainer 'Resize EP' OUT NOW on Alive Recordings!
ALiVE Recordings is on a roll. Having done their time swimming amongst the wealth of cool new labels competing for attention, this “little fish” is making some big waves in the smaller pond. Recently attracting serious props from Richie Hawtin, Anja Schneider and Gabriel Ananda to match the consistent support shown by tastemakers Carl Cox, Danny Howells, Terry Francis and James Zabiela, the label is becoming a must for many.
Despite just a few releases under his belt, No Brainer has quickly earned the reputation as a name to watch out for. His debut release “Orange” on Jim Rivers’ Misfit, his current single Cats in Tokyo for What Happen and remixes for Audio Therapy, Baroque and Dyami have served to back up this reputation and gain the support of tastemakers across the spectrum.
Combining a rolling hypnotic bassline with punchy, swaying percussion, Resize takes elements from the deeper end of the house scale but retains a floor-filling tension throughout with its driving, energetic arrangement
Das Groove develops a retrospective vibe on the deep house template bringing an old-school funk flavour to the release with its lazy, low-down organ riff, echo-laden vocal snippets and bright and bumpy beats.
