Yeah, so did i. but how many of them can you play before its just old? Id really like to see some more realistic war shooters on the market. Not so abysmally complex as games like arma, but like the original ghost recon.

I still consider, to this day, Ghost Recon to be among the best FPS's I've ever played. I'll attest that arcade shooters have the lowest replay value of any genre in video games. They do get old, fast. But that's the kind of gamer I am. I have a record-breakingly short attention span; my interest in a certain game wades in almost no time at all.

That's why arcade shooters work for me. 15 minute play sessions every now and then is fine with me, and arcade shooters fill that void in spades. If you want to get moreso engrossed in your gaming experience, by all means I don't blame you. I totally respect that. But for me, thats not the type of gamer I am. So I go for the low hanging fruit that entertains in that short burst I'm looking for.

You're a veteran gamer, so you've got different expectations. And you've got the best of tastes...but we do cater ourselves towards what we find the most enticing. Short, arcade-like bursts of gaming awesomeness is what I'm looking for, and games like BF BC 2 are what do the job the best.

BTW........why did someone in the IGN forums mention Supreme Commander 2? Are they on their way to building a franchise? Or was this guy full of shit?

Im not quite sure what you’re referencing. But yeah, supcom 2 is out march 2nd. im fairly pessimistic about the title because of all the changes, but still hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
