This is what I've been asking for months and of course the same smart remarks. Do people really think Charlotte has a bigger EDM scene? That is not the issue. Andy Moor would get just as much if not more here.
We may have a big rap scene, but that doesn't define us. Our problem is with the promoters. That is one comment I can agree with, Charlotte just has better promoters evidently. Unless Liquified or whoever else promotes in this town said they talked to Gareth Emery's people and couldn't strike a deal, I'm not buying it. Nobody tried. The same people say the same stuff in these things. Some people may have the time and money to make an 8 hour drive round trip, but most of us don't, so that's not a valid response.
I'm sure more people are going to come with the same responses, so I will go ahead and also respond to the ones who will say "we get plenty of talent, you just need to get out of trance." We get either local djs or no name djs who are trying to make a name for themselves. Sometimes there may be one who is big in the scene they play in, but rarely. The fact is, yes, touring djs that can make it to charlotte, should have no problem hitting atlanta. We just have to get someone who cares to try.
Until somebody in Atlanta steps up and starts bringing some talent like Charlotte has, I will not be going out.
