Nice bassy synth. Its wet so you lose a bit of power in the lows I think. Maybe try mirroring your bass synth and have the second as a dry layer with lowpass of 250hz to beef up your 250hz and below with a bit more gain on the lows of the synth. then highpass the wet synth at 250hz.
I love your melody. I think the first breakdown is lovely and would benefit from a bit more progression and development before the break actually arrives. Introduce the main synth gently for a minute before the break actually happens for example. The development of the submelodies is really nice too. but you need to really harness this to greater effect by developing it in a better arrangement.
From what I hear in this work I hear a track that could be worked on in 2 yrs when your sound is more fortified and you are more clear of your musical direction. One cannot argue the strength of the emotion in this track is very special indeed and with some arrangement adjustments and some clearing up. Maybe some careful reverb/delay on your percs might broaden and assist in the euphoric nature you are going for.
Thanks for the sample. |
I'm glad you like it and thanks for the critical feedback. But, 2 years? Just not sure what you mean. Hopefully I don't have to wait that long to finish this, hehe.
edit: i can't really disagree with any of this feedback guys, i'm going to check out those frequencies on the midbass and indeed there is much reverb on that also, which i didn't notice until i checked it out in mono. perhaps today would be a good day to knock this one out once and for all.
