Re: Need Advice! Going to Las Vegas Memorial Day Weekend from Miami

Hello!
A group of us from Miami are planning to go to Las Vegas on Memorial Day Weekend, but would really appreciate some advice, since we have never been. We are planning on attending pool parties during the day and going to clubs at night, and were thinking about Wet Republic on Sat, Rehab on Sunday, and Wet Republic again on Monday, and Tao one of the nights. Last year at the Palms was the Love festival, any news on whether it will be held again this year?
If anyone could give some advice on whether this plan sounds good or any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Also, we are planning on staying at the Hard Rock. Is this a good hotel?
Thanks again! |
this is a nice little start youve got. stayed at the hardrock before and its a little out of the way from all the strip hotels, but with vanity and rehab on site it works. Wasnt a holiday weekend but it was summer and we had comp entry to the rehab and club($60+) and the room was only a little over $100, so saving on the charges alone was reason enough to book the room.
Vanity at the hard rock hosts godkitchen thursdays. this week its Robbie Rivera and funkagenda, so if youre getting in early that week, this is a weekly party to hit up. plus the ztip fridays at rain and perfecto saturdays at rain.

i wouldn't make set plans yet... too many parties to be announced, especially with the new clubs and pools (Haze, Vanity, Body English's new afterhours with a new name, Liquid pool at Aria, XS/Encore pool, etc.) and new Vegas residencies (Kaskade at XS/Encore pool, Guetta and Tiesto at Haze, Robbie Rivera).
as Mikey said, do Tao sunday for Morillo
and skip Rehab...

Check out www.3amvegas.com for the memorial day lineup after WMC. As has been said most of us in Vegas just started booking for memorial day this month so the lineups are still in the very early stages...

DO NOT SKIP REHAB!! if youre going to experience wet republic as well and see what thats about then definitely take the time to hit up rehab. plus if youre already staying at the hard rock you get free entry and i believe line bypass. for rehab, thats a steal in itself!! i went labor day weekend of '08 and it was incredible and i waited in line starting at 815am to get in at 11 when they opened! also, stay on the look out for the studio 54 afterhours events (JP, boris, calderone, etc) always a good time.

Thanks again for the advice!
I also heard that even if you buy advance tickets, you may not always get in. Do you recommend getting to the pool parties and/or clubs very early and wait in line? Or will you get in if you buy an advance ticket? |
there are no advance tickets for rehab. you pay at the door unless youre staying at the hotel where you get the comps and ud have to get more info on that because im not familiar with all the details. when i went i called the night before to get info and the lady told me to be in line no later than 830am and they open at 1030-11. so i did that and i was still prolly 75 people back in line at 830am. i personally am always at the club when it opens even with presales and the weekend i went i had no trouble getting in anywhere.
one other sidenote...i suggest if you have people coming to rehab without comps they get there early because i was told it was $40 for guys and $20 for girls to get in. they opened the doors AT 1030 and i got in a half hour later and it was already $75 admission for guys! so long story short....GET THERE EARLY

i think most people on TA would agree that Rehab is GHETTO now. but to each their own.... not saying its not fun... but the crowd is wack especially compared to Wet Republic or the other pool parties.
and FYI I understand you no longer get comp entry into Rehab just by staying at the Hard Rock...

Hey house cats and trance kitties!!
I can tell you that Wet Republic is THE place to be this summer if you love EDM!!
Rehab unfortunately just isnt what it used to be as far as dance music, its definitely turned into more of the hip hop crowd. This past summer their line ups included Snoop Dog, T Pain, etc.
Whereas Rehab is only once a week Wet Republic is open almost every day in the summer, with Sunday reserved just for our EDM crowd!
And of course Memorial Day and Labor Day is ALL HOUSE EVERY DAY!!
We do have guest lists for our non holiday events as well, for guys and girls. So if you have a particular date in mind please email us and let us know, we'll take care of you!
We also have Godskitchen nights at VANITY in the Hard Rock every Thursday! This week is Chris Lake and later in the month is Mark Knight and Steve Angello.
We also have a guest list that is FREE for EVERYONE on our list, as well as a hosted Skyy OPEN BAR 10:30-11:30pm.
So you can see we love to take care of our EDM friends!!
If you ever need guest list or table reservations please dont hesitate to email! Oh, and I am a native of Las Vegas...so if you need any advice or have any questions on our events or other events going on around town let me know!
