a couple of more questions.....
1)I want to import a whole wave file (entire track) so i can play about, remix it etc. how and where do import the wav file. is this possible at all?
|
No this ain't possible so far as I know. What you can do is cut some samples out of the track using a audio-editor like Sound Forge, and then load them into your project (*.rns file).

2)how do i assign a piece of reason (i.e. drum machine) to a specific mixer channel?
|
Press TAB, and you'll see the back of your setup with all the wires and stuff. Go to the sampler/synth or whatever you want to assign, and look for the "output". Right click on that, and you can assign it to a mixer channel, or even to other things like a reverb machine, or a delay machine.

3)Once if finsihed makign my drum loop, how do i put it in to the sampler at the bottom so i can pres splay and listen to the track so far?!
|
Go to the piano roll of the drum sampler, and add notes. Here you can create the drum loop and you'll see it below in the sequencer.
Hope this all will help you, as I'm still a beginner..

in redrum there is the grid, ABCD / 12345678 (situated at the bottom as buttons) and there are eight channel things, where you can change the sound of each beat.
could someone explain step by step how to get this loop into redrum? do i have to use a whole channel per beat? can i have more than redrum machine open/working. thanks, Nell |
Rex loops need to be loaded into Dr. Rex. You can only load .wav files into Redrum.
As for the ABCD/12345678 controls at the bottom, they are there if you prefer TR style programming. You can do the same thing using the sequencer at the bottom of the window. Personally, I prefer using the sequencer for everything (I don't bother with rackmount sequencer controls, or the Matrix sequencer), but someone who has extensive use with real drum machines may prefer to use the sequencer controls directly on the Redrum.
