Snake31 - Helix [Trance - 140bpm]

This is the first version of this song. I just finished working on it from scratch, spending about 4 hours on what I have here. Have a listen:

Helix by Snake31

Any suggestions on what to do with it from this point? I'd like to keep working on it.

Update!

Helix 2.0 by Snake31

A couple of things immediately stood out for me and i'll just list them as I noted them down :-

Bassline - probably a little too thick and could use a bit of EQ. Try making a small cut somewhere around 100-200hz. Create a narrow boost of a few db and sweep around that area until you hear an obviously boxy or woofy sound and then make a cut in that area.

Kick - Too flat. Either try another kick or layer the one you're using already with something that has a bit of click or attack.

Reverb - High pass the reverb channel a bit and lower its level. For my ears the reverb is a little to present.

Lead line - Make one! A track like this stand or falls on a hook or memorable lead and that's the main thing that's lacking at the moment. Sometimes a tricky thing to create, but something that's essential imo.

Nice start, keep us updated as the track progresses

A truly helpful post! Thank you, and as for the lead, I've been playing with different melodies to find something that will fit. I'll update the song for you ASAP.

Hey man, just listened to it. Hmm... Try to change the kick and the bass to make it bit more harder what I mean to have a proper sound when the receiver is trying to catch the bit... Let me guess... You worked on it with Pro53? similar sounds and with the reverb, not sure if theres some flanger on it I would fix it and choose a better lead or a synth to the melo...not like it to be honest work on it yet, it might be a good tune!

Best Regards
