I wish there were an option to exclude previously released tracks. I've chopped some labels from my list for abusing the system in this way.
Of course, it pales in comparison to the standard practice in the psytrance scene... I guess someone read the Long Tail and derived from that a strategy that amounts to hurling a barrage of recycled tracks at the public in the hopes that something will stick.

if something works one time will work again.
Works + Sucks = Profit.
Back in years music was about creating a piece of art, almost like when you see a picture or a sculpture. Now they don't judge if it's good or bad, just judge how much money they'll earn with it.
And general people like shit music and repetitive, being innovative is against the rules of commercial music.

Many reasons...
The same artist chose to remaster or improve the track and make a 2010 version.
The artist decided to assign the track to remixers.
The release didn't get a proper release the first time or was a limited release at the time and they are now making it available in other formats.
i hardly hardly ever saw a recent version that beaten the original... it's just like the 20% off on the juno downloads of Tiësto collections, they're trying to sell records that are with heavy dust.

Very true... with the exception of may be Monkey Forest, Circa Forever, and 1 or 2 of the Ferry remixes from his recent contest imo. As with others, they never should have been touched in the first place.
