Pretty cool. I'd love to have a decent enough of a MIDI controller that would let me do that. The way you have your progression moving, you've set up this really cool element of anticipation that I think is missing a lot of the time. Kind of cool, knowing what you're doing, to hear the improvisation with the synth work.
My only crit has to do with the hats being a little harsh in places and the ride-cymbal-bell (panned center-left and pitched lower than the ride) getting a little annoying after a while. The bass-line also seems nearly absent, but the kick seems to be doing a lot of work in that regard.
All-in-all, a very enjoyable listen. As proof-of-concepts go, I'm definitely sold. |
Thanks! I had some trouble with the bass; it sounds fine on my monitors, but when I played it on some other devices, it sounded way too heavy. So, I kind of 'blindly' lowered it just to be safe. Maybe I'll try bringing it back up. And about the ride cymbal - yeah, I have a love/hate relationship with it myslef right now ...I'll work it out and post an edit in a minute.
Thanks again!
