It's probably because Serato is generally marketed to turntableists, rather than multi-taskers.
In that regard, the Serato edition actually makes more sense than the one designed for Traktor, as the Traktor one has no dB meters on ANY of the channels (I can't understand why this is the case), no friendly cue points, plastic, wobbly knobs, and a finish that just looks incredibly cheap, especially compared to the quality looking build of Serato's.
I think it's safe to say that Traktor edition has been fairly shafted.
