Well, actually i record to MD first, then to my computer.
it's a bitch, because my md player only can transfer to computer analogue in real time.
there is digital transfer, but it's ridden with annoying problems like Sonys copyright bullshit, i'm not allowed to make a copy of the mix i made, with vinyls i paid for. oh yeah, and the MDs have a copyright levy on them to support the artists, and i ALREADY BOUGHT THE RECORDS!
anyway.. that's how i record.
as for tips on beatmatching, just keep at it. I used VTT to learn without wasting vinyl and needles.
and, my PCV275, i am keeping, i love it.

ha, yeah, i know some of the trannies weren't perfect, some were good though. I got my decks only a few months ago, i'm too lazy to figure it out too, but it was this summer.
as for kill switches.. i don't really use them at all. I used them a slight bit in that mix, but it's usually too harsh of a sound when clicking them on or off.
would be good for mixing techno or hard house i imagine, but for trance they are too brutal.
but, i gotta say i love this mixer. i don't ever use the volume faders, they stay at 100% all the time, i just use the cross fader and bass EQs

ok, listened to it (well skipped through it , but I WILL listen to the whole mix ) here's my two cents (positive things first ):
*Great style, I vocal trance.
* You picked your tracks very wisely, it's important to pick tracks that go well together, good job
*Overall, you have gooood mixing skills.
*THE GAMEMASTER!
now for the (constructive) critiscism:
*I don't really like the vocals in the first track, a bit cheesy, but that's personal preference
* the mixing from gamemaster into the next track, beatmatching slightly off, happens on some other transitions aswell, nothing major tho
*programming of the set. You start building up to a climax until halfway through the set, but after that you lose the energy. IMO the last track is the one that has to make the most impact, and frankly, after you bring in the gamemaster track, none of the other tunes following it can 'measure up'. especially 'out there', to me is a tune that's great for filling up a set, but not the stuff I'm waiting for when I get near the end of a set.
I understand that you can't keep on pumping, that wouldn't be right either, but I think you 'played your hand' to soon (ok maybe I'm saying somthing really stupid, english isn't my first language, so i'm no expert in proverbs You get the point tho)
Overall, very well done.

Thanks ampburner!
yeah, the gamemaster rocks eh my favorite track ever! i have a special vinyl with all three mixes and a bonus track on it, the original version is even better.
and your right, the mix OUT of it was weak, that's the worst one of the bunch. i almost turned off the decks right there, but decided to keep going.
as for the set.. well.. i see your point, it does sorta climax at gamemaster, that was my intention though. i wanted it to peter out like that leave it relaxed feeling at the end.
i only have so many records, i was running out of good choons to drop! oh well, i am ordering more, got like 10 on the way from scottland.
you think "out there" is a filler song? i think it's WILD.. i had to slow it down to like -4, it sounds way better when pounded at the proper speed or even faster.
and as for the first track.. yeah, it's a slight bit cheesy. but, hey, i'm one of those people who actually believes in plur, doesn't do drugs, and wants love and peace for everyone, it isn't just a catchphrase. that's just taste though.
you have to admit the intro rocks though.
