Anyhow...
I've been starting to pile up w/ warped records and it's pissing me off.
I know you can "squish it between heavy things" but does that really work?
What other methods might work better.
Etc etc. Throw in all the solutions.

If you put a warped record on a flat surface like a thick wooden chopping board and put in the oven on the LOWEST possible setting, just long enought for the record to get warm, take it out and then squish it between heavy things.

if u wanna know more about unwarping your records, i think u should go visit www.onlinedj.com. its a site dedicated to all DJ's, and its like a site where you can make threads and post replys just like this one. but you can probably get alot more response from ppl there, because that sites full of experience peeps. so yeah try that site if you want, but first you gotta sign up for it too.

putting the warped record in the oven is not a good idea and sqeezing it using 2 boards is even worse cus you will damage the grooves on the records.

If you use the lowest possible setting you will not damage the grooves, I've done this at least a dozen times and it works every time. You just have to use common sense when doing it, your unwarping a record not cooking a turkey!

Place the record on something flat and hard, I use a thick wooden chopping board. Turn the oven on the LOWEST possible setting it will go, place the record in it for about 2-5 min, you don't want to leave it in there very long or you will damage the grooves. When you remove the record place it on a record sleeve, I usually have the record sleeve on a table or a countertop, place another record sleeve on top of the record and then put the cutting board on top of the record sleve and that should do it!

Putting the record between two flat smooth pieces of glass is usually a better idea ...

w/o heating it up? i got some vinyl id like to revitalize...i just stick a record btwn 2 heavy pieces of glass w/o heat, or w/ heating it up??

im kind of weary about sticking some of my tunes in the oven, most of it is old and not being pressed anymore.

Well, some heat needs to be applied to soften the vinyl so it can be shaped back into its original shape. You can either put the glass-vinyl sandwich in the sun on a nice warm day or you can just stick it in the oven on the lowest setting (50C / 120 F shouldn't hurt the record). You need to heat the record evenly while applying constant (even) pressure.

About sticking the tunes in the oven, if the record is warped badly and you can't play it properly anymore then what is there to lose, right ?

well, i tried it w/ my solar stone record thats warped pretty bad...had it at 170F for 3 minutes, didnt return to its original shape. stayed about the same.
