Post classical pieces that sound/feel like trance

I started to listen to classical, and i found alot of good ones that i like. But i cant help but wonder how alot of pieces have alot of similarities with a good trance tune.

just have a listen to these:

Uplifting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ak85S5KZoKE

at 25 sec, remind you of something? reminds me of alex morph's walk the edge (the color and general feel, not the notes themselves)

Trance in general
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUJKSGzVUz4

the entire movement here (ends when the sad one starts)
is pretty trancey to me, very repetitive, sticks to the same key, and kind of trances me out lol.

Tech Trance:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad_e...feature=related
this just sounds like tech trance, change it to synths and it will sound like w & w or M6. Im surprised no one has borrowed from this piece yet.

A Good Trance Buildup:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMIdaB109-I
The buildup starts around 30 seconds, and the drop at about 1:20. Its pretty insane, i got the orgasm feeling at the drop that i normally would for trance.

this one piece reminds me of an old tune that listened to (forgot the name)

Not too many people listen to classical, so this topic is meant to open up some new music to people who want to find new trance/classical things.

Post something classical that sounds like trance, and add a reason as to why you think it does - a trance tune thats similar - genre that it would be good in. Maybe some producers might notice this and start remixing some good old tunes from the past.

I don't think an orchestral version of Greensleeves counts as classical, or sounds much like trance.

sure it does, its a fantasia for christ sake (a form of classical). But in all honesty think about it: take that theme, turn it into an airsaw and add some percussion and bass - would that not be uplifting?

This interpretation of it may be, but the bit you're pointing out is just the Greensleeves melody, which is an old folk song. Ice cream vans use it as their jingle. And putting it on supersaws would sound utterly ridiculous, which I suppose is perfect for epic trance.

and folk came from medieval and evolved into baroque into classical into romanticism into post-romanticism etc etc etc. really tho i consider all these eras under the same name - music of traditional form and principles.

Im not sure what trance you listen to, but i have a feeling its 99 and before. In which case this topic makes no sense comparing that kind of trance. The trance i grew up with was 2000 to present, so yes, an airsaw doesnt hurt my ears when its applied to a melody.

If you think walk the edge was a ridiculous track, so be it. But i for one found the melody appealing (it doesnt just lock itself into the notes of the scale, which is sadly what limits alot of producers these days)

I'd actually never heard the track until you mentioned it, although a quick listen confirms it's even more ridiculous than a hypothetical Greensleeves On Supersaws. Speaking of which, get your tissue ready...
