Does anyone have the sony 700DJ's? Im curious if i could take the shell off and spraypaint it just like picotto. I doubt i will really do it, considering its a lot of money at stake, but im just curious =D.

I was wondering how he got them but i had no idea he spray painted them.. quite good idea but dangerous when you own expensive phones.

I don't really see the problem in the spray painting itself - the coating of paint is so thin that no major heating / sound / seal problems should appear.
The problem is in actually taking apart the phones themselves - if the 700djs are anything like the other designs, the casing is not meant to be removed. If you can pull em off without any problems though go to it.
I guess one other thing to keep in mind is this : what happens if they headhones break down (for whatever reason) - I doubt the warranty will still apply simply because they have been tampered with.

Hmmm.. that reminds me, my 700's have a 10 year warranty lol! So i better not tamper with them

well im not sure that he spraypainted it, but thats the only logical solution. but they do look pretty good!

Hmmmm... Then could we do something like air-brush them instead and there would be no problems, etc...?? Cause i really really like the look of those he had. I was wondering if Could tape down every single part of the headphones (with that painters tape) with tape and then place it on some newspapers and spray paint (or air brush) the headphones or a certain part (like the outer "ring" on the ear part). Cause I dig the silver look, but I also might want some blue or something, might be fuggin bad ass. I dunno, i hope some of u here can logically think of a good way for people like us to do this...

i DONT suggest u spray-paint them because it will look cheap and the paint will chip very easily since u touch headphones alot...

heres my suggestion....take the headphones apart "IF" you can with out damaging them...BUT if you cant then MAKE SURE u use good painting tape and tape the parts u dont want painted...then take the headphones to a automobile body shop...like the guys who paint your car when u crash...and have them paint them with one of their air guns..OR if they have an airbrush have them use that...

I say go to a body shop because they know how to lay the paint on using their air guns...and they will put a clear coat over the color paint u had them paint them which will protect them from chipping and will also give them a nice shine that will last...and with a body shop/car shop you will have a wider selection of colors to choose from...anything from a solid color to wild colors like Mauro's and even colors that change when the headphines are turned a certain way..like from blue to white then to purple..and way u want it...

I don't see it costing much at a car shop...the most i would say it would cost there would be $50-$100...but if u spend that money your GUARANTEED to have EXACTLEy what you want...with out worrying about it looking crappy and chipping..which it will if you paint it with spray paint...trust me....i know about paint because of hooking up my car and having so many friends in the business....

take them to a car shop tomorrow and ask them prices and colors...u wont be dissappointed..i promise

ya bro no problem.....lemme know what the body shop says...when you go....it might even be cheaper then what i said....i was jus giving high prices just in case....but tis not alot of work for a autobody shop...maybe 1 hour for them......

when you go check out the paint made by the company "House of Colors"..the body shop SHOULD have a book with all House of Colors different colors...its very good paint...and u can something similar to Picotto's color through that company...but their paint tends to run a little more expensive....but since u dont really need much paint i wouldnt worry...
