Someone get John 00 Fleming here. He's pretty much the best name in trance at the moment, NYC needs his ass. Preferably B2B with Chris Lawrence. Until 8 am.

The sheep don't like that kind of trance. I've seen him quite a few times over the years and the turnout was never that great, which is a shame. It didn't bother me because he always throws it down.

I feel like NYC has enough heads that are into the good trance, and now-a-days I think if he was booked with CL we could get a pretty solid turnout.

Mad Not Mad, I think, could really pull a show like this off. John 00 Fleming deserves an epic party. Medium sized dark room with an awesome custom light show... I want it so bad!

The last time I saw him in NYC it was at Love, near Halloween. Forget what year that was, anyone remember? Has he even been in NYC since then?!

Doubt it will happen. CL is coming soon too, I think.

def a great idea, BUT the turnout would be poor
his sound is def not for everyone
i have a set of him from aug and the first half is amazing
straight up dark and deep trance... once he gets into his psy trance stuff i can only listen to soooo much of it tbh

overall tho i would still support the night, he def keeps it real and i respect him and his views

i do remember tho back at arc in 2003 he played one of the best sets ever, that room was perfect for him and the vibe was threw the roof holy fuck i wish i could go back to that night ha ha ha

Yup, this one...

He played a great set that night, but unfortunately that party wasn't that well-attended if I remember correctly. J00F's darker trance sound is just not as widely appealing as other trance djs. It's a shame, because he's awesome. Would love to see him get booked in NYC again.

You're giving NYC too much credit. The "trance family" in the tri-state area is strong, but musically, I'm starting to really question what that means and if that's a negative thing.

In a just world, guys like Activa, J00F, M.I.K.E., Jon O'Bir, etc., could be able to come to New York and play to at least a packed out 500-person room, but unfortunately not even the 200 person rooms fill up for these guys. These guys get more turnout playing in places like Minneapolis and Texas.

Kids in New York aren't going out once a week like they used to. They stay home for 1-2 months to save money for the next $80 Deadmau5 concert, or the Identity Tour, or don't go out for 4-5 months because they're saving for $400 Electric Zoo. There's no culture of seeing some obscure different DJ this Friday for $10 before midnight, and then going out next week to see another interesting DJ for $10 before midnight. It's a "go big or stay home" mentality from the promoters.

Go figure, my first gig in a Manhattan club in like 2 years is a 1 hour opening set alongside a lineup of Aly & Fila, Myon & Shane 54, and Sied Van Riel. Ten years ago, one of these guys would have been the sole headliner, I might have had my own biweekly residency. But the culture's different, and the implications it has on the way music is played and made are very far-reaching.

A lot of sad truth in this, I suppose. I've always loved the club life... but not the 85$ Deadmau5 club life. I'd much prefer to pay the 10 here and there for a solid DJ ALONE in a club. I really am not even a fan of these big ass nights with 5 fucking DJs on them, because then each DJ gets a 1 and a half or 2 hour set and really don't get a chance to display their style.

We should start a protest. Occupy Pacha?
