Basically what I want to do is have a selection that is equivalent to flea markets. I want to go in, find music that's totally random from people ive never heard of but instead of vinyl, i want mp3s.
Also, what's a great way to discover music online? I know of pandora and Musicovery but what else is there?
thanks in advance.

Soundcloud?
I've actually been meaning to take a tour through sound-cloud, just going through the pages of everyone I've been following, and seeing what I can find, that way. There easily has to be music I've never heard out of 204 people. While there are some I listen to, regularly, I just haven't made the time to go and listen to everyone.
Well, the equivalent of a flea market would have a lot more than just music. But this is an interesting idea, I suppose, for a dose of randomness and spontaneity.

I discover most music through /mu/ (on 4chan)
I guess 8tracks.com is also quite nice as well as mumuplayer

Can't you just go on Beatport and just run random searches?

Yeah but I'm not looking for dance music, I'm looking for someone's old collection of music that no one wants anymore.

great for music discovery
Last.fm is one of the main resources I found and that actually works.
the artist suggestion system acknowledges your taste in music and you'll be listening to artist that are your style.
Great to find new independent artists.
Jango.com Is another "radio station" website that learns from your music selection. Here independent artist from all over the world submit their tracks and you can also discover a lot of musicias.
It's quite repetitive so I wouldn't suggest to just keep one.
Itunes, Pandora, stumble audio, hype machine.. try all of them!
That's the thing, as the possibilities of finding something you like in a flea market depends also on the posibilities of acquisition of the item from them, there are many flea markets. And each one is a world of randomness. Also there are many websites that you can try and combine.
