Cool new WIP - would really like your crits - cheers

it's quite hard work writing in triplets, but i really like the feel of this track. I've added a breakdown, and it's all a little rough around the edges and my virus plays up a little at 2:19, but it's minor.

I've had little time recently, but I'll be back listening to others tracks properly soon - - you're guaranteed a listen back if you take the time to listen to this one.

cheers

T

Wow, fantastic break synth, best I've heard in a while. I'd love a Virus.

The other part that is very decent is the triplet section prior to break, personally I think the track should start there, the non triplet intro for me is a bit everyday and didn;t hook me in and I don't know why you don't just start the whole thing triplet. Really dig those stutters and stammers.

The drop does not have impact yet. The break synth is so good that the drop needs to have massive impact. Just triplet bass and drums and stutter perhaps but with banging but clearly spaced impact (ie - space and clarity around the main drum sounds).

Good work so far.

Thanks man - i think this is good advice, especially regarding the break - i was just so in love with the sound and the little triplet thing that I kinda forgot about making a bigger impact with it.will be working on this a little tonight

thanks for taking the time to have a listen =)

What I imagined right away and would be so cool is to have some sort of cool vocal sample at the start of this with that cool arp sound, like a little conversation or something between two girls. The reason I came up with this is the tv was on and two girls were talking and it sounded so cool with this intro. Seriously! I actually think the intro synth has too much reverb on it, I would cut it back a bit if I were you. I actually think it would make the kick sound better if you cut it back and maybe even put a some on the kick. I think after about 3 minutes in was time for a cool lead sound to come in, that cool bass did come in soon after but would be nice to have something else along with it, not so much needed as I think it would be cool. Your mix is pretty solid. Actually what might even be cooler than a nice lead synth is that vocal sample again. Just an idea. I love the breakdown and that synth at around 5 minutes. Pretty nice build there too. But I have to be honest I was a little let down because there was no big explosion afterwards; like a really cool part after a build up that just has a lot of energy, it kind of just went back to the same energy as before that build. I think I would seriously consider putting in some sort of lead and vocal samples as well. It will give your track more of an edge and make it stand out from the average track.

If you can only spice up or some how make more catchy/interesting or develop first two min that would be really, really good - the rest is definitely on my liking site.

Cheers,

Darek

cheers guys - absolutely right about the payoff after the build - will work on that and the intro.

may try and get a singer for the intro... always find it hard to find good ones though

cheers again for your time - really useful to me!
