Hey guys! Was watching through Deadmau5 Ustream studio session videos and pretty much liked this one. Was wondering how he achieved that gated reverb sound in his first track. Also, have both the tracks he was working on been ever released?

Maybe a bit more in-depth explanation? That is how exactly should I use reverb send?

the reverb is being manipulated in a rhythmic way. LFO tool is doing this on the reverb. Send rather than insert so you can send other channels if you want.

That was really boring to watch but kind of interesting at the same time I can relate to the "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT" sentiment but yeah the process of making EDM is so fucking lame

Have you never played around with your group fx/ send fx/ (whatever you'd like to call them) tracks?

Do you set up a master reverb and send varying amounts of various instruments into it? Your DAW should allow you to do whatever you want with that reverb - EQ it, add chorus/ phasing, and yes, automate the level - either by drawing in automation or by using a sidechain compressor or probably a whole number of other ways.

It could be he is just switching thru different reverbs some of which sound reversed and more like echo chambers - I always do this and get exactly those sorts of changes whilst rolling through which verb to use / editing verb parameters.
